  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

A turning point in my career was in 2006, when I played in NYC for the first time alongside jazz elite’s musicians Eddie Gómez and John Faddis, among others. The band was awesome; as if we were playing together for a long time!

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS

What inspires me is listening to the masters of the drumset and to World Music. Also, for me, listening to great classical pianists and guitarists show me new ways of approaching my instrument. Sometimes, watching what young drummers do challenges me to get to work harder and explore.

  • FAVORITE ZILDJIAN CYMBAL/COMBO

Vic Firth was always my first choice; I fell immediately in love with the sounds you can achieve with VF sticks on a ride cymbal and, at the same time, hit a bell playing something Latin, using a totally opposite dynamic.
