Alex Battini De Barreiro

Independent

Being of Italian-Argentine origin of Spanish descent, my passion for Latin and Latin-Jazz dates back to my adolescence, so my musical studies have also been influenced by this. During my career as a musician, I have collaborated on a recording, video and/or live performance level, with pop and non-pop, national and international artists. Citing only some of them: Tullio De Piscopo, Roberto Vecchioni, Angelo Branduardi, Enzo Iannacci, Francesco Nuti, Marcella, Ornella Vanoni, Rosanna Fratello, Franco Simone, I Vianella, Iguazu Acoustic Trio and others: (Alex Acuna, Horacio El Negro Hernandez, Patrice Rushen, Otmaro Ruiz, Makoto Kuriya, Paul Jeffrey, AD. Al Coopley.

I have also worked in various television orchestras for broadcasts (RAI, Mediaset, Fininvest).

Didactically speaking, since 2005 I have been the key teacher of the Yamaha Drums Course Europe and I have been the owner and founder of the Orion Percussion Drums School since 1986.

  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

The moments to remember are Tanti, when I was able to share the stage with musicians like Alex Acuna, Horacio el Negro, Otmaro Ruiz ... and many others. In those moments the Music becomes Magic and everything seems to flow smoothly and without obstacles!!

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS

I very often like to close my eyes and let myself be penetrated by Music only by listening, and I try to let myself be inspired by something transcendent, GOD... Angels... Love... Peace...

  • FAVORITE ZILDJIAN CYMBAL/COMBO

The Vic Firth drumsticks are very balanced for me and I like to feel them in my hand, succeed and learn to control them and get to know them both on the cymbals and on the drums, and it's always like the first time. I never stop knowing them enough!!!
